ALL ELECTIONS ARE LOCAL
Updated—June 2, 2024
The article below was first sent out on May 20, 2024 and updated June 2, 2024.
While we appreciate the questions already submitted by residents, we are still formulating how they will actually be presented to the candidates by the panel. The time to submit questions has been extended to June 10, 2024
The Pine Ridge Property Owners Association in conjunction with the Civic Association will be hosting the 2024 Citrus County Candidate Forum at the Pine Ridge Community Center 5690 W Pine Ridge Boulevard Pine Ridge, FL 34465.
On June 18th, Center doors will open at 3:00 PM and starting at 3:30 PM sharp candidates for the Florida House of Representatives-District 23 will provide their vision to gathered residents. There will be a structured program with a panel asking questions pre-submitted by residents electronically. At this writing three candidates have qualified for this State office and have confirmed attendance.
At 5:00 PM the same structured approach will start for ten candidates currently qualified and running for the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners. All candidates have until June 14, 2024 to confirm their attendance.
In the interest of time and to eliminate duplication, a panel of residents will be receiving, reviewing and refining questions in advance. Refined questions will be presented to the candidates by yet another panel during the program.
Questions will be accepted from now until June 10th, 2024.
This will provide the time necessary to eliminate duplication and refine them as necessary. We want to express how Pine Ridge residents are vigilant now more than ever and can no longer be taken for granted. As the largest populated subdivision in Citrus County we deserve to be heard on June 18th and going forward. We are more than 11,000 people with 1.2 Billion in assets paying nearly $56 million (+/-) in ad valorem taxes.
All questions will remain on file for any and all future reference. We thank you in advance.
