PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Welcome back! It was refreshing to have a month without Board meetings.

Let me point out a few items in your packet:

As you can see from the ADC report, they’ve approved 90 new homes this year, for a total of 3,573 total built or in progress.

Recent efforts by our manager and staff have added about 500 more properties who are now participating in our password-protected and/or member-only electronic communication systems. That’s a 25% increase from our election and referendum in April this year. They have streamlined deed restriction violation notices by using this system, in some cases informing members and closing out the issue in the same day, with no out of pocket expense. Money, time, and effort are reduced, and that’s good for the Association.

Using these electronic communications systems is also good for you, our members. In addition to saving your money, they provide on-demand access to an incredible amount of the Association’s information, meaning you don’t need to stop by the office, write a records request, wait for an appointment, then come back to the office to review them. Also, if or when a document is updated, the newest version will be immediately available to you.

You see, in accordance with Governor DeSantis’ passing House Bill 1203, the Association has beefed up the Member Portal to include all statutorily required documents and more. By January 1, 2025, our password-protected Portal must provide all governing documents, rules, contracts, budget, financial reports, insurance policies, meeting notices, and more. We have most of the documents already available, and with the passage of some of our New Business, we’ll be that much closer to full compliance.

So, how do you like the contents of your agenda packets? It’s pretty robust, right? But, it’s also a lot of pages, and even in-house printing costs us time and money. In the future, we’ll provide hard-copy agendas, previous minutes, and reports as we used to. All the supporting documentation for unfinished and new business will be on the Member Portal for you to review and print only what you feel is necessary. This makes everything available to you only if you want it, and saves the Association’s money/

Keep in mind, Stay in Touch is available to non-members, however, the Portal and associated communications are for Members only. If you’re not 100% certain that you’re signed up for the entire package, please fill out the form (copies in the back). If you’re already subscribed, staff will confirm they have the most current email address for you, if not, they’ll get you signed up for everything.

Lastly, next month we have our annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. It’s a small token of our huge appreciation for all the volunteer hours our members donate to the Association. If you’re a volunteer and have not been contacted, please see your committee chairperson to get you on the list. Thank you all for your participation.
