Pine Ridge Equestrian Program

The Pine Ridge Equestrian Center features a 17 stall block built barn with automatic waterers, ample storage for hay, separate feed room, 2 tack rooms, full bathroom facilities with adjoining lobby/lounge, 4 outside wash racks and security cameras. The barn is surrounded by 13 tree-shaded, generously-sized pastures with auto-waterers and horse-friendly flexible fences backed up by hot wire.

The grounds also include the large main arena, a jump ring, dressage arena, obstacle arena and a round pen. Over 28 miles of deeded trails can easily be accessed from the Equestrian Center and there’s plenty of parking for residents who want to trailer over to attend events or use the arenas. To arrange a tour of the property please call 352-746-0899. Please don’t hesitate to call, we love showing off the facilities!

FAQ

I just want to see the horses- can I just walk thru?

For the safety of our visitors, the horses and the boarders, we ask that our guests be escorted at all times when visiting the barn. Horses, while beautiful can at times be unpredictable. They are prey animals and when startled or frustrated can bite, kick, stomp their feet or simply swing their heads and hurt you or themselves. Most often, they are outside in their pastures anyway, so we invite you to walk the aisles between the pastures at any time. Because they have the freedom to move away when not feeling social, it is a safer way to visit .

Can I feed them treats?

No. Under no circumstances should you feed the horses. You could be bitten and many horses are on restricted diets for medical reasons.

Is this a Full Board Facility?

It is not. The barn operates as a limited co-op. Each boarder takes care of their own horse’s care; such as turn-out, grooming, blanketing, tacking up and stall mucking. We do take turns feeding and share in some other barn chores.

Does the HOA fees pay for horses feed, etc.

All the boarders buy their own feed, hay, bedding, etc. and pay through their board fees for the utilities and other horse related necessities such as wheel barrows, manure forks, etc. HOA fees cover the regular maintenance of the structure and grounds only.

Can you choose Pasture Board only?

No, the number of stalls and pastures do not allow for that option. The board fees are nominal, so there would be no advantage to offer pasture board only.

Can non-residents board here or use the trails and arenas?

The barn is for Pine Ridge residents only. Residents are allowed to bring guests on the trails and in the arenas, but some restrictions apply. Check with the PR main office for more information.

What are the restrictions on the barn for residents?

The barn restricts the number of horses you can keep to a maximum of 2 and the length of stay is limited to a 2 year period with some limited options for extensions. The barn is designed to function as a transitional facility until residents construct or renovate their own horse housing.

Thank you for your interest in the Pine Ridge Equestrian Complex. The above information is subject to revision by the main office at any time.
